The Drama and Trauma of Laminate Flooring

We're having all of the carpet in our house replaced. If you've forgotten, or if you're new, we came into possession of a puppy around Christmas. Read about it here. Harvey does what puppies do. Which means our already questionable carpet became much less than questionable. Since we moved in over a year and a halg ago, we've talked about replacing the carpet. Mix in a little doggie virus for both dogs and replacing it became mandatory. We decided to go wtih laminate wood flooring, because it is easy to clean and looks really nice.

We contracted Lowe's to do the work. My parents were going to be out of town for about 10 days, so that would be a great time to do the work. We would stay at their house so the workers could have access to the whole house without us being in the way. The flooring we bought had to be ordered. It came in around Tuesday and the installers planned to start Wednesday, knowing that my parents were due back and we needed to be out of their house by Friday. They came Wednesday and tore out our old carpet. I went back Wednesday night and things looked the same. I went back Thursday afternoon, still no change. I went back Friday morning, nothing. Long story short... they're still there! That's the drama. We spent the Holiday weekend living our lives around two sweaty flooring installers. Fun!

Now the trauma. Our cat has disappeared. She was locked in the clost. But then she wasn't. Oops! Apparently the lock on the pet door broke. I guess we get to drive teh neighborhood after work tonight.

YAY!!!! The flooring guys just called. The cat was under a chair! Woohoo! all is well. At least it will be when they finish.
