My nemesis

I have an arch-enemy. Well, now that I think about it I have several, but I'll only tell you (whoever you are) about one of them.

Running! I hate running. It hurts. It sucks (wind)! It takes time.

But then again, I really love it. I need it. Isn't that just like an arch-enemey? What is Superman without Lex Luthor? What is Xavier without Magneto?

It's good for me. It makes me feel better. And oddly enough I enjoy it.

I can't decide if I should run teh 5k this weekend or not. I've never run in a race before. I run 3 miles basically every other day, but it's on a treadmill. I know running in the "real world" will be different. I may still do it though. If I do I really want to finish ahead of most of the really old guys. I was looking at some times from the race last year and many of teh old guys (I'm talking 60-75) had better times than my best time. Let me show you:

Men 61 to 65

Place Name Age Overall Time
1 Michael C Thompson 61 64 24:13
2 Gene King 63 78 25:01
3 Joseph Hancock 62 97 26:33
4 James Hayden 61 162 32:40
5 Charles Vinyard 62 180 35:45
6 Bradford Mutchler 65 188 37:33
7 Don Peck 65 203 41:15

Men 66 to 97

Place Name Age Overall Time
1 James Morton 75 67 24:31
2 H Ford 71 79 25:09
3 Fred Miller 67 94 26:17
4 Jeff Johnson 66 147 29:51
5 Larry Norton 67 174 34:28
6 Hal Lyles 69 202 40:58

My best time is 27:25. So I'm gonna get smoked by several old guys. I guess I need to decide. BUt it's not the largest weight hanging over my head right now, so I won't fret!
