Release the Kraken!

Well, I'm sitting in the classroom in Memphis, waiting for class to start. We're getting a late start today because the professor had to attend a funeral. I have 15 minutes to kill, so here are some random, mostly unrelated thoughts.
  • I have a test tonight in Church History. That should be fun. Or not. I've studied. Gotta study more after this class.
  • We got our first papers back in this class. I made a B....eh. I'm not exactly happy with it, but it's probably what I deserved.
  • Big things are afoot at Casa de Coats. More later.
  • Things are going well at church. I'm wise enough to know that that could change at any given moment, but right now....things are good.
  • I preached my second funeral yesterday. It was, again, a tag team affair. I like it that way.
  • Where in the world did that AU defense that showed up against South Carolina come from. Crazy! But good crazy.
  • Arrested Development is coming back for a 4th season (abbreviated) and then (finally) a feature movie. That is VERY exciting. To celebrate, I've been watching some of my favorite episodes on Netflix. If you've never seen the show, you should go watch them. Start at teh beginning.
  • I also found out (via Ryan Karr) that Star Trek: DS9 is finally available streaming on Netflix. I haven't started watching yet, but I'm vurry excited about that.
  • We've been busy doing the band parent thing the last several weeks. Football games, working concessions, competitions, etc. Fun, fun, fun.
  • We had AT&T Uverse installed last weekend. I'm not sure I like it. It has some great stuff, but we're missing some channels we really liked.
  • Here's waht my typical week looks like: Monday - work, dinner, Girl scouts and/or band booster meeting, school work. Tuesday - work, dinner, drop off at band practice, school work, pick up from band, more school work. Wednesday - school work, drive to MTS, class 4-8:30, eat, school work. Thursday - finish school work, class 11-4, drive home, breath. Friday - work, football game (watch or work concessions). Saturday - breakfast for the kids, house work, argue with kids about house work, Auburn football (at some point), sermon stuff (I know this should be earlier in the week, but what can you do?), eat at some point. Sunday - copy bulletins, drive to Moulton, church, drive home, eat, get ready for evening church, drive to Moulton, church, drive home. Rinse and repeat!
  • Time for class. Yikes, we have a test in here next week!
*update 8:00 pm * - I killed it on my Church History test. I hope Dr. Branch thinks so when he's grading.

  1. Reading your "typical work week" made me feel so tired. It seems like the only time I ever see the Coats family is driving madly through town and I can honk and laugh and wave.
Give Misty our love and tickle Abbie for us.
