It's almost vacation time! We're leaving Monday morning and headed south for a week of doing nothing. Well that's not exactly true. We'll be busy little bees if the kids have anything to do with it.
We are going to the same place, staying in the same place, even sleeping in the same room as last year. This is mostly at the request of my youngest. She has planned many activities to keep us busy for a few days. Most of which involves doing the same things we did last year. Apparently last year's vacation was a hit.
I just want to sit by the pool (I hate the beach) and read and relax. That to me is a vacation. We have to ride go-carts. We have to go get ice cream. We have to get pizza at that same pizza place. We have to go to the pool and the beach within 30 minutes of check-in.
And it will all be a blast! Mostly because the kids will be happy. We'll all be together. I won't have to listen to people whine about slow plumbers or missing electricians or fraying carpet.
In the morning, I have my last little bit of responsibility other than driving safely. Play, sing, lead Sunday School, then I'm going to spend a week enjoying my family. Unless I kill them.
Ah, vacation! Have a good week I know I will.
